It is with great sadness the family of Bill McAinsh announce his passing. Through his bravely fought battle with cancer he maintained an appreciation and passion for life. He had been awaiting a liver transplant, but unfortunately after having a routine procedure Bill suddenly became very ill and unexpectedly  passed the following day.

Bill touched the lives of many people from various walks of life with his charm and warmth. He was often described as:

"The type of man that would give the shirt of his back to help another."
"A natural athlete with unorthodox techniques"
"A genuine friend with a heart of gold"
"Compassionate and committed to creating peace and harmony"

He enjoyed many interest including; tennis, swimming, gold panning and road trips. Having strong family values, Bill continued efforts to connect with relatives and loved them deeply. He can now rest painlessly and peacefully.

I played with Bill couple of times as part of our tennis group. Remember him saying I gave him a run for his money. He seemed like a kind and genuine person. From his athleticism never even realized he wasnt well. Hope he is in a better place.

Bill was a true athlete and a gentleman. Last time I played tennis with him was in Sept and seeing his intensity on court it never appeared what he was going through - hats off to him , he is a inspiration in our Tennis group.

Bill was a great addition to our tennis group and it wasn't just because of his amazing serve but because he was always respectful, flexible, considerate and kind. I specially remember how nice he was everytime we spoke on the phone when I called to invite him to play. We'll miss him for sure. RIP

He loved playing tennis with you all!
He did not want anyone to treat him differently 😉
He didn't want to be known "as the guy with cancer"

Bill always said hi and asked how I'm doing. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. I'm a shy person and usually have a hard time talking to people. Rest in peace Bill.

Bill was a man with and infectious smile & would give you the shirt off his back to help when he could.
He is a now at peace, it maybe harder for the ones he’s left behind.
Remember & share his memories with others to keep his memory alive as you move forward in life.

Heather my heart is heavy for you and your family, you are the best sister Bill could have had in his court of life, you were his light & strength and loved him unconditional.
May your days become lighter & your night be brighter as the days go by!
Sending our love to you at this time & always ❤️
