Marleen Frances Foulds (nee Hitt), of Aldergrove, BC passed away on March 31, 2024 from terminal cancer. Marleen was only 70 years of age, having just celebrated her 70th birthday on March 12.
Marleen was born to her parents Robert and Elma, in Abbotsford, BC. She was raised on a 60 acre farm up on Sumas Mountain along with her siblings, Roberta (Bertie), Judith (Judy) and John. It was in her teenage years she met, Mark; her now ex spouse. Together Marleen and Mark had 4 children, Tanya, Ryan, Lisa and Sonya during their 31 years together. They started their family in Port Coquitlam, then moved to Surrey ending in Aldergrove.
Marleen was a devoted stay at home mom to her children. She was active with the school PAC’s, was a Guide leader, and spent many hours as a sideline sports mom as her children played, Softball, Baseball, Soccer and Rugby. She was also a crossing guard and playground monitor at County Line Elementary school while her youngest children attended. Following her divorce from Mark, and when her children were grown, she returned to school and became an SEA with the Langley school district where she worked until the age of 65 years. Marleen, eventually moved to work at her granddaughter’s elementary school – Parkside Elementary School. Becoming a Gramma was the greatest joy to her. Marleen loved to be with her grandchildren and be a part of their lives. In her later years, Marleen enjoyed camping with her sister, Judy, brother in-law Greg and with her children.
Marleen will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Especially her family; Daughter, Tanya (Joel), Son, Ryan (Jeff), Daughter, Lisa, Daughter, Sonya (Lee), Granddaughters, Charlotte, Isabella and Ainsley, Grandsons, Zane and Zander, Sister, Judy (Greg), Brother, John, Nieces, Cindy, Jessica, Mallory, Nephews, Kent, David, Carter, Liam and close friend, Glenn.
