The following information allows us to get started on the necessary documentation, prepare for the registration process with Vital Statistics, and take the first steps toward meeting your family’s needs. If you are unsure of any information, please type in “UNKNOWN”.

Prepare for the arrangement

1. Determine who is the person in charge by locating the will, or by reviewing Section 5 of the BC Cremation Interment and Funeral Services Act
2. Determine how payment will be provided: prepaid funeral policy, cash, cheque, e-transfer, or credit card (processing fee). ​

​​We also work with the Ministry of Social Development, BC's Public Guardian and Trustee, Indian Affairs, Work Safe, and Last Post Fund

1. Find an appropriate set of clothing for the deceased.
2. Gather important documents to show the funeral director. Such as: The Will, Birth Certificate, Social Insurance Number, Personal Health Number, BC ID and/or Driver's License. 
3. Find several quality photos of the deceased to be shared with Ancient Burials.
4. Write down any thoughts for the obituary and eulogy discussion.
5. Review our product selection to determine the type of casket to be used.
6. Write down any questions you wish to ask us. There are no unusual questions. ​Please ask us whatever is on your mind.

Meet to finalize details 

 We make house calls, so simply let us know where and we will come to your home, office, church, coffee shop, local library, or wherever you're most comfortable. You are, of course, welcome to meet in our office or correspond electronically. We will want to collect the clothing, photos and payment.
