Leah passed away suddenly on Friday March 6th 2026 at the age of 74 years. Late of Richmond, B.C., Leah was born in North Vancouver at the old North Vancouver General Hospital on September 21st 1951. Leah was the second born child of Hugh and Evelyn McSween. She was educated at St. Edmund's and Holy Trinity Catholic Schools, Balmoral Junior Secondary and Delbrook Senior Secondary Schools and also attended a number of post-secondary training courses and always managed to do well in her studies. She always seemed to find satisfaction in and took pride in her work.

She traveled quite a bit during the course of her years including having lived in New Zealand and Australia in the early 1970s and traveled to Hawaii, Fiji and Venezuela and circled a large portion of the North American continent by train. She also lived for a while in Calgary, AB. but always found her way home to the west coast again. She enjoyed being physically active and participation in the Roncalli Club at Holy Rosary Cathedral in the early 1970s also gave her a lot of fun where she made many friends.

Predeceased by sister Claire (1965), father Hugh (1981), mother Evelyn (2021), brother Murdoch (2022), niece Lindsay (2023) and brother Garth (2024), Leah is survived by a sister-in-law Gunilla, brothers Colin (Pat), Brian, sister Mary-Ellen and nieces and nephews Katie, Kyla (Joe), John, Jared (Shelby), Steven (Katie), Hannah, Jorin (David), Elizabeth (Justin), Jaden (Emily), Alexandra (Noah), Murdoch and Mark and grandnieces and grandnephews Logan, Ewan, Mary, Beau, Hazel and Dylan, cousins and other relatives.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 21st at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church 2725 Lonsdale Ave., at west 27th Street, North Vancouver with Rev. Father Lucio Choi celebrant. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver, B.C. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the B.C. Schizophrenia Society would be appreciated, www.bcss.org.
