With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Susan Christine Stenberg (Hille) on April 10, 2025, at the age of 70, after a courageous year-long battle with ovarian cancer. Surrounded by family and loved ones, Susan left behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and selflessness that will never be forgotten.
Born in Langley, British Columbia, on September 10, 1954, Susan was the fourth of six children born to Joyce and Harry Stenberg. She grew up on the family’s poultry farm on 216th Street (Topham Road), attended Fort Langley Elementary School, and graduated from Langley Secondary School. A gifted athlete, Susan excelled in sports including football, basketball, volleyball, rugby, soccer, and baseball, forming lifelong friendships through her love of athletics. Her adventurous spirit and deep connection to nature inspired her passion for running, biking, hiking, and walking--reflecting her love for the outdoors and all living creatures.
Susan’s greatest joy in life was her family. A devoted daughter, mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, she found deep meaning in creating lasting memories with those she loved. She is survived by her partner, Richard Cornelius; her daughters, Tara Hille and Dana Hille (Justin Chorney); her stepdaughter, Shauna McCollum (Robb); her grandchildren, Beckham, Tatum, Cali, Mason, and Colton; her sisters, Elaine De Pedrina (Bruno) and Julie Smit (John); her stepsister, Ellen Baragon; her brothers, Mark Stenberg (predeceased) (Mary Jane), David Stenberg (Mary), Eric Stenberg (Cathy); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Susan’s kindness, generosity, and playful sense of humour touched all who knew her. Her quiet strength and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many communities she enriched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Thunderbird Show Park, 6975 248th Street, Langley, BC to honour Susan’s remarkable life and legacy.

Rick and family. So many broken hearts are remembering Sue these last few weeks. She fought a valiant and positive fight.
I was lucky enough to call Sue my friend. Spent many girl trips to Osoyoos with her, golfed many games, played pickle ball with her and did some yoga with her also. She always reminded me to take care of myself and had such a quiet subtle way of caring for you. I loved how easily she laughed and how her whole face lit up when she did. We will miss her and as one of our friends said “the world seems a little lopsided now”. Rest easy Sue, we’ve got it from here …. ❤️💔❤️

My sincerest condolences to the family. I knew Susan in high school remember her as being nice to everyone, a great athlete and having the most beautiful smile that would light up a room.

It was with great sadness that I read of Susan’s passing.
I knew of her in High School and then was blessed to get to know her personally when we worked at Guildford Delicatessen. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine and her sense of humour just added to her aura.
All I know is that the loss of her has left the world a little bit emptier. But she will add sparkle up in heaven.
